Baton was difficult to open and even more difficult to close, it would close half way or not at all. Once we watched videos etc and made sure we were closing it the correct way, it was still impossible to close. Most of the time if it does close the lock mechanism breaks and it will not stay closed and slides open.
Response: If you received one that isn't working properly, please email us to return it for replacement.

Retractable Steel Baton |

I bought this baton after I had to begin commuting into Chicago. When retacted it fits in my front pocket, then extends out to over 20 inches. I split a 1 inch dowel with it already I know that I could break legs as well. I feel safer with the baton in my pocket.
